Marilynettes watch this documentary. There a couple of inaccuracies but the interviews with the people who knew her are incredibly moving. Particularly Mitzi Gaynor’s and George Barris’. I cried at Georgie’s

"All people ever see is Marilyn Monroe, as soon as they realise I’m not her they run."

My absolute favourite line from “My Week with Marilyn”

Fun little question for you: Marilyn is alive with adopted children, Grand children and a great Grandchild on the way. What do you think her holiday plans might be like for Christmas 2012? What do you think she'd be serving? Where would she spend the Holiday at? Who all might she invite? What would she buy the kids and Grandkids? What do you think she'd be looking forward to most of all? Who'd be first to kiss her under the mistletoe?

Oh I love this question! Marilyn would definitely be spending Christmas with her family. Either somewhere snowy or she would have them all to stay at her home. For dinner it would be a traditional Christmas dinner, because she loved the idea of a simple family life that had traditions. And of course there would be a dish full of peas and carrots ;) I think the only people she would invite would be her family. Close friends might be invited over on Christmas eve or boxing day but Christmas would be kept as a day for family only. I’m not sure what she’d buy her grandchildren but I know she’d want to spoil them rotten! She loved children and would want to give them all the things she never had. I think the part she’d be looking forward to most of all would either be the Christmas dinner with the family, or perhaps drinks around the fireside after the meal. In a perfect world Marilyn’s first kiss under the mistletoe would be Joe DiMaggio. x

I don’t know why but Marilyn’s Seven year itch dress, and photos from the subway scene just make me sad. I think it’s because when I see them all I can think of is the what happened with Marilyn and Joe after the filming.
